Once a bridesmaid and now the Bride, Melissa already knew which vendors would be her go-to. Since I had previously met her as a bridesmaid at another of my weddings, when she reached out, I knew it was going to be a magical wedding. I was right: Melissa & Jacob’s two-day affair was nothing short of amazing!
For the first day, we met at the beautiful Raleigh North Carolina Temple where the couple shared an emotional first look (despite Jacob trying to hold back tears because he knew if he cried Melissa would cry so he was trying his best not to get emotional so that she wouldn’t ruin her makeup so early on in the day). We had some time before the ceremony started after the reveal to grab some portraits and Melissa and Jacob soaked it all in; the entire time Jacob could not stop saying how beautiful Melissa looked and I don’t blame him, she was a stunning bride!!
When it came time for the ceremony, Melissa and Jacob changed out of their wedding attire into their ceremony attire. Since I was at the temple before the ceremony began, I had the opportunity to see all of Melissa and Jacobs’ loved ones arrive – it was so special to witness! I also had the chance to see my past bride, Molly, who introduced Melissa to me as well as a few other people I got to know at Molly’s wedding. While the ceremony took place I patiently (but also eagerly) waited outside the temple as I am not a member. After the ceremony, Melissa and Jacob had this incredible grand-exit where the two large doors of the temple opened and their friends and family standing outside cheered them on; you could really feel the love in the air.
The second day was an intimate ring ceremony and reception at the wonderful Wellesley Clubhouse in Richmond, VA. The ceremony took place in front of the beautiful lake that is right behind the clubhouse. During the ring ceremony, Melissa and Jacob exchanged the promise part of their vows and their rings in front of their families and friends who weren’t able to witness their union at the temple. Similar to the prior day with everyone cheering after the ceremony, Melissa and Jacob had some unexpected fans cheering them on after the ceremony from the guests at the community pool next to the clubhouse – the couple was so touched and happy to see people they didn’t know celebrating them.
The rest of the day was spent enjoying the reception, having fun, and celebrating with their family and friends. Melissa and Jacob, thank you for having me capture your love!
As always, shout out to these incredible vendors who also had a part in making this wedding day so special:

When planning a wedding it is so scary to hire vendors and have all the trust in them that they will do a good job and from the second I met Lyn Waldrop I knew she would have my best interest in mind!"
"Lyn also did an amazing job at capturing our real emotions which I am so grateful for!

She was great at communicating so I wasn’t stressed about how I should dress, and when and where to go. I’m not very comfortable in front of a camera but I’d do another shoot with her any day! She had tons of poses and a plan of what we were doing so I was at ease knowing these pictures would look beautiful."
“Lyn was SO energetic and made the experience so much more fun
