I know I say this about all my couples, but photographing Ashley and Trevor’s wedding was truly an honor. Before I started my photography business, I used to work with Ashley’s mom, Stephanie, so I was SO excited when they reached out asking me to capture their wedding. If anyone needs some DIY wedding inspo look no further than this perfect, low-key, and intimate affair.
Ashley and Trevor were married last month on a farm owned by a family friend (which is turning officially into a wedding venue soon – stay tuned. The day began with Ashley doing her own makeup and a friend had done her hair (which they both had done perfectly, she looked STUNNING!). After Ashley was ready for her big day, she did such an emotional first look with her stepfather.
Then it was time for Ashley and Trevor to see each other for the first time on their wedding day and let me tell you, this first look down by the lake was just magical. These are some of my favorite photos of the day! When it came time for the ceremony, Ashley’s mom was so emotional it was so endearing to see. It was a short, sweet, and emotional ceremony that showed how much love they have for one another. After the ceremony, we took a few family photos and then headed into the reception and kicked off the night with Ashley and Trevor’s first dance.
The newlyweds played the “shoe game” which had laughter filling the room. Another favorite part of my night was they opted for an ice cream bar instead of a traditional wedding cake and it was DELICIOUS.
Ashley and Trevor’s wedding day turned out to be a dream. They didn’t want an extravagant, over-the-top event, but rather an intimate affair with their family and closest friends. By keeping their guest list to a minimum and making sure every aspect of the wedding felt personalized and special, Ashley and Trevor created a one-of-a-kind event that will certainly never be forgotten by those who were lucky enough to share it with them.
