As a wedding photographer, I’ve seen my fair share of wedding venues – some tend to stick out more than others and Rillhurst Farm Weddings in Boston, VA is definitely one that sticks out! When Chelsea and Aaron had reached out for me to photograph their wedding there I was SO excited to be going back to Rillhurst Farm because this place just feels so much like a home instead of a traditional wedding venue.
I arrived at the venue early to meet Chelsea, Aaron and their family and friends before getting started on photos. One of the venue’s unique features is that the couple and guests are welcome to book a stay at the farmhouse for a relaxed-filled wedding weekend and since everyone had arrived at the venue on Friday they were all fully relaxed. After grabbing a few detail shots, I met up with Aaron and his groomsmen and grabbed some fun candid photos of Aaron giving them their gifts (the guys were so excited to open them up!). We then took a few photos in front of the farmhouse and then it was time to go back to the bride and all I can say is OMG Chelsea was stunning. Her dress was so elegant and she wore a bracelet from her mom and her grandmother’s earrings.
Chelsea and Aaron skipped doing a first look so that they would see each other for the first time during their ceremony. As Chelsea walked down the aisle she had tears streaming down her face and Aaron was stunned at how beautiful his soon-to-be wife was (like a wide open mouth and said wow). They two wrote and exchanged their own vows which was one of my favorite parts during the ceremony followed by the little “we are married” dance they both did after their first kiss.
After the ceremony, we did family portraits, bridal portraits, and newlywed portraits which aligned perfectly with the sunset. It was such a perfect day the couple was just super chill and laid back and they both enjoyed the whole day which was amazing!
